I really, really liked this restaurant! It's a small place with a handful of tables and it wasn't crowded at all when I showed up for dinner Wednesday night. The waiters were very polite and hospitable. Even the other patrons were very friendly! I came here while traveling for work and I saw families with kids. Seeing families reminds me of my own and that was nice.
I ordered plate #76. There is no way I could pronounce it properly and I appologized to the waiter. He took it in good stride and thanked me for respecting his language by not tongue twisting the pronunciation. :-) He brought a large bowl of rice and stew along with some fresh bread. It was an enormous portion for a single person! I barely finished the stew, the bread, and half the rice. It tasted great! I had to slow myself down from eating it too quick.
My only regret is the lack of saffron ice cream. I had it only once before a few years back and it was amazing! When I saw it on the menu I thought I could have it again and increase my tally to two. No such luck. Ice cream in London in December is probably not too fashionable. That means I have to find a way to come back to London again in the summer ... and they better have the ice cream by then! ;-)
Seriously though, this is a very nice restaurant and I feel fortunate that I have the priviledge to travel to places like London and sample so many different cuisines! -

The restaurant was packed so we decided to try it.
Service was lovely. Very attentive and kind. The naan bread is made fresh by a gentleman in the cubbie with the oven. We both finished our meals and were very satisfied! -

Described as Mesopotamia and Persian, the food was was expected for this area of London, we had a mixed starter and then rice dishes. The food was good, but the service was appaling.
We waited a long time between courses, but then over 20 minutes to get the bill and as we were going on to the cinema it meant we missed tho movie we had panned. To add insult to injury a 15% service charge was automatically added to the bill (there were 2 of us), although I saw no mention of this in the menu.
I insisted the manager take the charge off which took another age, but really...
Once it is established and has more staff I'm sure it will be fine. -

I thought the quality of my meal was excellent! I had the combo dinner of filet, ground lamb & chicken breast. Mast khiar & tea. Fantastic meal!
